Extreme Weather: Tokyo Snow 8 February, 2014

According to a report on the Japan Times website, today’s snowstorm is expected to put up to 15cm of snow on Tokyo by tonight, which will make it the heaviest snowfall in at least 16 years.

I don’t know about that, but I sure am glad R. and I cancelled plans for today and hunkered down at home instead. Not only is it still snowing heavily – those small flakes which means it’s really cold – but the wind is whipping up the accumulated white stuff into blizzard conditions. Looks like Niigata out there, or Hokkaido. Or Canada…
